Take a Quiet Walk With Jesus

                                     By: Timothy E. Davis

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Simon, and his companions went to look for him, and when they found him, they exclaimed: "Everyone is looking for you!" Mark 1:35-37 (NIV)

When the battery in your cell phone gets low, you recharge it.  Due to a severe injury, I have a medical implant, a spinal cord stimulator wired into the nerves of my spine.  When the power in it gets too low, I have to recharge it.  If I don't recharge it, it can reach a point where it doesn't work anymore.

Our prayer life is like that.  When we neglect our Bible study, our personal prayer time, and our quiet time with God, our spiritual power can be depleted rapidly. In the verse from Mark, Jesus Himself demonstrated the importance of spending time alone in prayer.

This situation can be corrected through prayer, Bible study, and spending some quiet time each day with Jesus.  Slowly, the wall we built between us and God will come down, and our relationship will be  restored to what it was before we lost our spiritual power.  All it takes is for us to take a quiet walk with the King of Kings each day.
