The Gospel of John Mark

By: Timothy E. Davis

The Gospel of John Mark  was once also known as "Peter's" gospel. This was because Peter probably gave John Mark most of the material for the Gospel of Mark.  A little bit of the material, it is very likely,  came from John Mark's friendship with Paul and Barnabus.

Christ is presented in two important ways in the Gospel of Mark.  He is introduced to the readers as Jesus, the suffering servant.  And the suffering servant came to suffer and die for us, so that we can be reconciled to the Father.

Messiah came to earth to be our redeemer, our propitian of sin.  The Messiah has ransomed our eternal souls from hell, and given us an unbreakable promise that we will one live with Him forever.  Mark tells us we have a glorious, amazing future ahead of us if we accept the free gift  of Salvation, which has been paid in full by the King of Kings, the one who is eternally true and Holy.
